During your initial appointment, Dr. Emmett will discuss your diagnosis and treatment options, and offer plenty of opportunities for you to ask questions. Often, surgery can be performed on the same day as the consultation, though more complex cases might require additional testing or follow-up evaluations.
One way you can ensure a smooth consultation is to provide us with the following information:
- A current list of any medications you take.
- Completed patient forms.
Also, let us know before your appointment if you have a medical condition that may be of concern prior to surgery. Common examples include diabetes, high blood pressure, artificial heart valves and joints, rheumatic fever, etc.
IMPORTANT: If you are under 18, you must be accompanied by a parent or guardian during the consultation.
For your safety, our practice requires a preoperative consultation and physical examination before surgery.
