We’re all going to get older; that’s inevitable. But just because you’re getting older, it doesn’t mean your face has to look older. Over time, your face may develop wrinkles and a loss of elasticity. Fortunately, the injectable filler Radiesse® can add fullness and volume to your skin, smooth out wrinkles and give you a more youthful appearance. Emmett Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Jennifer Emmett, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, has helped Denver, Lone Tree, and Douglas County residents turn back the clock safely and comfortably with the help of Radiesse®.
What is Radiesse®?
Radiesse® is an injectable filler designed to reduce the appearance of wrinkles, restore facial volume and stimulate the production of collagen in your skin. Radiesse® is good for deeper creases, such as nasolabial folds and marionette lines, and can also help rebuild contour to larger areas, such as cheekbones and the jawline. It is a gel-like substance that is comprised of calcium hydroxylapatite, a substance naturally found in the body.
Benefits of Radiesse®
Many benefits attract men and women to Radiesse®. The product works by increasing the natural production of collagen, making it so your skin gradually repairs itself. Some of the benefits that make Radiesse® effective and unique include:
- Immediately minimizes wrinkles, deep creases, and folds.
- Restores facial volume by stimulating the production of collagen.
- Produces long-lasting results for up to two years.
- Uses naturally-occurring ingredients, reducing the risk of allergic reactions.
- Quick treatments with no downtime.
Is Radiesse® Right for Me?
If you have lost facial volume as a result of age or weight loss, Radiesse® can help restore the elasticity and fullness, giving you a lifted, more vibrant look. If you are looking for a non-surgical, minimally invasive treatment to diminish the appearance of wrinkles and folds around your eyes or mouth, Radiesse® may be a good option for you.
What Happens During a Radiesse® Treatment?
Prior to treatment, you should avoid taking aspirin or other medications that thin your blood to prevent complications. You should also quit smoking and drinking alcohol in the days leading up to your procedure.
Dr. Emmett will begin treatment by cleansing your skin with an antiseptic solution. She will then inject Radiesse® below the skin surface using a very fine needle. When possible, Dr. Emmett uses an intraoral injection technique where she goes through the mouth to reach targeted areas. The procedure takes approximately 15 to 60 minutes, depending on the number of areas being treated. Radiesse® can be injected in multiple places during the same treatment to achieve optimum results.
What Can I Expect Following a Radiesse® Injection?
You can expect to see immediate results after you receive your Radiesse® injection. Your face will look smoother and fuller after one treatment, with results gradually improving over the next two to three weeks and lasting up to two years.
You are able to return to work and resume your normal activities following injections, however, you may experience some bruising and slight swelling around the area that was treated that should subside within a few days.
How Much Does Radiesse® Cost?
Your cost will vary depending on how many syringes of Radiesse® are needed. Radiesse® is generally considered an elective cosmetic treatment so many insurances will not cover the cost. Dr. Emmett offers financing through CareCredit®, Simmons Bank, and Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
