What Happens During a Perlane® (Restylane® Lyft) Treatment?
Prior to treatment, you should avoid taking aspirin or other medications that thin your blood to prevent excessive bleeding and any other complications.
Dr. Emmett will inject Perlane® (Restylane® Lyft) into the target areas using a fine-gauge needle. When possible, Dr. Emmett uses an intraoral injection technique where she goes through the mouth to reach targeted areas. The procedure only takes a few minutes and doesn’t require any downtime. A topical anesthetic can be applied prior to treatment if needed, but most patients do not find it necessary, as the procedure does not typically produce much discomfort.
What Can I Expect Following a Perlane® (Restylane® Lyft) Injection?
Following treatment, you may experience minor swelling and redness that should subside within a few days. Over-the-counter medication and a cold compress can be used to alleviate any discomfort. You can expect to see positive results almost immediately after your first treatment.
