Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus are popular dermal fillers that reduce common signs of aging. These dermal fillers use hyaluronic acid to stimulate the body’s own hydration process, which helps add volume and fullness to problem areas. Serving Denver and Lone Tree, Emmett Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Jennifer Emmett, board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, has helped Douglas County residents safely and comfortably reduce lines and wrinkles with Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus.
What is Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus?
Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus are FDA-approved injectable fillers that use a naturally-occurring substance that is found in the body, hyaluronic acid (HA), to restore facial volume and reduce the appearance of deep wrinkles and folds in the mouth and nose areas. Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus are very similar in nature, however, Juvederm® Ultra Plus is a stronger formula and is used to target deeper lines and wrinkles.
Benefits of Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus
Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus have become popular choices for patients using dermal fillers. They are two of the smoothest HA fillers on the market. Some reasons why patients prefer Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus include:
- Non-invasive treatment with no downtime
- Improves the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles, smoothing out the skin
- Restores facial volume, improving skin contour
- Results last up to a year
- Natural ingredients
Is Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus Right for Me?
If you want to look younger, restore volume to your face and erase fine lines and wrinkles, Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus may be right for you.
What Happens During Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus Treatments?
If desired, Dr. Emmett will apply a topical anesthetic to numb the treatment areas. Many patients do not find Juvederm® Ultra or Ultra Plus treatments uncomfortable. After applying the anesthetic, Dr. Emmett injects either Juvederm® Ultra or Ultra Plus into facial folds and wrinkles using a fine-gauge needle. When possible, Dr. Emmett uses an intraoral injection technique where she goes through the mouth to reach targeted areas. This helps reduce the possibility of bruising.
The procedure typically takes between 30 to 60 minutes, depending on how many injections are being administered.
What Can I Expect Following Juvederm® Ultra or Ultra Plus Injections?
Results should be noticeable within 15 minutes of receiving your first injection, and improvements gradually increase over time. You may experience redness or bruising near the injection sites following treatment, but should disappear within a few days. To prevent further irritation, you should avoid vigorous activities and direct sun exposure for at least 24 hours after treatment.
How Much Does Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus Cost?
Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus are generally considered elective cosmetic treatments so many insurances will not cover the cost. Dr. Emmett offers financing through CareCredit®, Simmons Bank, and Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
