The injectable market is one of the fastest growing areas in facial plastic surgery, including dermal fillers that require no surgery but still restore volume and youthfulness to your face. Emmett Plastic Surgery, led by Dr. Jennifer Emmett and board-certified by the American Board of Surgery, has helped Denver and Lone Tree men and women obtain their cosmetic goals safely, comfortably, and nonsurgically with injectable dermal fillers.
What Are Injectable Fillers?
Injectable dermal fillers are non-invasive, non-surgical procedures that diminish fine lines and wrinkles while restoring volume and contour to your face and neck. There are several dermal fillers available, each of which has a different formulation to target various cosmetic problems. Dermal fillers can provide similar results as plastic surgery, however, instead of tightening and flattening, they are injected under the skin to replace elasticity and add volume. Injectable fillers provide temporary results that can last up to two years.
Injectable Filler Benefits
The main benefit of injectable fillers is that they do not require surgery. Injectable filler treatments are quick procedures that require little to no downtime. Patients are usually able to return to work immediately following treatment. You may need to have several treatments to obtain your cosmetic goal, but you will notice improvement after your first initial treatment.
What Kinds of Injectable Fillers Are Available?
Dr. Emmett offers a variety of dermal fillers that all improve visible signs of aging, including wrinkles. The different injectable fillers are designed to treat a specific problem. Dr. Emmett will help you determine which dermal filler is best for your needs. The various fillers offered at Emmett Plastic Surgery include:
- Belotero®
- Botox®
- Fat Transfer and Injections
- Juvederm® Ultra and Ultra Plus
- Voluma® XC
- Perlane® (Restylane® Lyft)
- Radiesse®
- Restylane®
Are Injectable Fillers Right For Me?
During your consultation, Dr. Emmett will thoroughly assess your skin and determine if you are a good candidate for injectable fillers. She will work with you to create a customized treatment plan that will help you reach your cosmetic goals. If you exhibit any of the following, dermal fillers may be right for you:
- Wrinkles, lines, folds or creases on any part of your face
- Sagging skin
- Crow’s feet
- Marionette lines
- Nasolabial folds
- Thin or undefined lips
How Are Injectable Fillers Administered?
You will have the option to have a topical anesthetic applied to the area being treated to prevent any discomfort. Most patients do not find the procedure uncomfortable, and many of the dermal fillers have a numbing agent already mixed into the formula.
For fine lines, the filler must be injected into the outermost layers of the skin, whereas for deeper lines and wrinkles it must be injected into the deep, innermost layers. To do this, Dr. Emmett will use a very thin, fine-gauge needle to inject the filler into troubled spots. Some patients do feel a stinging sensation when the needle is being inserted.
Dr. Emmett administers all fillers personally and when possible, uses an intraoral injection technique through the mouth to help reduce bruising.
What Can I Expect After An Injectable Filler Treatment?
Injectable filler treatments are very quick and do not tend to last longer than an hour. Most patients are able to return to work immediately following treatment. You may experience some minor redness, swelling and bruising that should subside within a few days. Over-the-counter medication and a cold compress can be used to alleviate any post-treatment discomfort.
How Much Do Injectable Fillers Cost?
The cost of injectable fillers will vary from patient to patient, depending on the extent of the procedure and cosmetic treatment necessary. Dermal fillers are usually considered elective cosmetic treatments so many insurances will not cover the cost. Dr. Emmett offers financing through CareCredit®, Simmons Bank, and Prosper® Healthcare Lending. We also accept cash, personal checks, and credit cards.
