Liposuction is intended to reduce and smooth the contours of the body and improve the patient's aesthetic appearance. This is done by removing fat deposits from areas such as the abdomen, posterior flanks (love handles), legs, arms, face or buttocks. Dr. Goldstein will evaluate if you are a good candidate for this procedure. The best candidates are those who are healthy, have good skin and muscle tone, and are commited to diet and excercise.
Liposuction is not a substitute for weight reduction programs such as exercise and healthy dieting.

VASER LipoSelection®
VASER LipoSelection® is a new patented technology used to break apart and
remove fatty tissue for body contouring. With VASER LipoSelection,
it is now much easier and safer to remove unwanted fat from nearly
anywhere on the body.
VASER LipoSelection® is unique because it uses ultrasound energy to
break up and emulsify fat while minimizing trauma to surrounding
tissue. Traditional liposuction uses forceful thrusting motions which can rip tissues in order to break down fatty deposits. With
VASER LipoSelection®, the motion of the ultrasonic probes and suction
canulas (hollow tubes) are smooth, even, and gentle. This results in a faster
recovery time for the patient, as well as less bleeding, bruising, and
discomfort.
VASER LipoSelection® promotes smooth, contoured results with minimal
pain and bruising, and promotes fast patient recovery.
VASER® LipoSelection may be performed along with other plastic surgery procedures such as tummy tucks and breast reduction, however, there is an increased risk when combining these surgeries.
The main risks of liposuction are due to the loss of body fluid when performing the surgery. Denver Face and Body always gives liposuction patients fluids intravenously during the surgery and monitors their fluids post surgery. The recovery period usually lasts three weeks, at which time patients will wear a body compression garment to reduce fluid accumulation and swelling.
